On October 1 2023, an amendment was made to the Poisons Act 1972 with regards to the supply of explosive precursors and poisons. This product was affected by this change. Businesses supplying regulated explosive precursors to professional users and businesses will need to verify the legitimacy of the professional user or business by obtaining the following information:
- You will need to complete the declaration form at checkout stating your business name, address, nature of business and registration number.
- You must be over 18 years of age.
- You must state the purpose for which each material is purchased.
- From October 2023, photographic ID is required with every purchase.
- You will need to understand your legal obligations under the Act, particularly in the reporting of loss, theft or suspicious activity.
- If you are reselling these materials to professional users and other businesses, then you will need to obtain and retain the same information from your customers.
